Dillie M. Branscum

Dillie M. Branscum, 89, Muncie, passed away Wednesday morning, December 5, 2018, at Elmcroft of Muncie. She was born Friday, July 12, 1929, in Wayne County, Kentucky, the daughter of John Shelby and Cordovia Ethel (Morrow) Maxwell. She came to Muncie with her family in 1953 and was a long-time resident of Cowan. Dillie loved her family and going to family reunions. She enjoyed quilting, growing flowers, working in her garden and canning vegetables grown in her garden. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and loved reading her bible. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn (husband Dan) Beard; sons, Larry (wife Polly) Branscum, and Darrell Branscum; sister, Dicie Phillips; brother, Virgil (wife Velma) Maxwell; grandchildren, Stephen (wife Susie) Beard, Andrew Beard, Melodee (husband Tim) Hicks, Brandon (wife Hollie) Branscum, and Destiny (husband Jacob) Morrow; great-grandchildren, Matthew Beard, Sarah Beard, Isaiah Coronado, Alayna Branscum, and Adalynn Branscum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Branscum, whom she married September 9, 1946; sisters, Artie Maxwell, Maggie Mason, Ella Waters, and Pauline Maxwell; brothers, Henry Maxwell, Bennie Maxwell, Johnny Maxwell, and Jeff Maxwell; and grandson, Carl Branscum. Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2018, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with Pastor Andy Phipps Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m., Monday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
