She was born Sunday, February 4, 1951, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Mable (Haase) Toney. Dixie loved spending time with her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing board games, cards, working crossword puzzles and going on a good shopping spree.
Survivors include her daughters, Michelle (husband, Scott) Whitaker, and Tracy (companion, Danny Goodlet) Prewitt; brother, Daniel (wife, Donna) Toney; three grandsons, Matthew Gamble, Daniel Prewitt, and Steven (wife, Cheyenne) Prewitt; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including Kelly (husband, Brandon) Silcott; and many great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Mable Toney; her husband, Michael Prewitt; two brothers, Frankie Toney, and Ronnie Toney; and two sisters, Norma Toney, and Sandy Lovell.
Elm Ridge Funeral Home has been entrusted with her cremation arrangements. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
