

He was born Tuesday, May 1, 1928, in Kankakee, Illinois, the son of Fredric Charles and Daisy (Myers) Hefter. Fredric was a kind, generous, and giving person. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Fredric enjoyed playing card games with his granddaughters, and traveling. He was very active in the civic theatre, body building and enjoyed living life to the fullest. Fredric was an advocate for the LGBT community and volunteered at the Crisis Center in Ft. Wayne. He retired as a Social Worker at the Ft. Wayne Veterans Hospital. His memberships include the Beth El Temple in Muncie.
Survivors include his daughter, Megan (husband, Ralf) Haeussler; grandchildren, Amber Keefer, Skyler (fiancé, Kaitlin) Keefer, Sailer Haeussler, and Ever Haeussler; great-grandson, Aiden Keefer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredric Charles and Daisy (Myers) Hefter; and his son, Fredric M. Hefter Jr.
There will be no services or visitation. Private burial will be in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
