George was born in Double Springs, Alabama, to parents Pervie Dickinson and Elizabeth (Pruitt) Dickinson on August 1, 1933.
George went to school in Double Springs, Alabama. He married Joyce (Gibson) Dickinson on December 12, 1952, in Muncie, IN.
George worked at Delco Battery in Muncie for over 30 years.
George was involved in New Life United Baptist Church in Selma, IN, where he served as a Deacon for several years.
George is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce (Gibson) Dickinson of 72 years, who passed in October 25, 2025, and several brothers and sisters.
George is survived by his son Jimmy (Sheryl) Dickinson, son John (Adrianna) Dickinson, daughter Gail (Gary) Watson, daughter Glenda Clark, daughter Connie (Phillip) Rogers, son Jeff (Sharon) Dickinson, son David (Pat) Dickinson, 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home & Memorial Park at 4600 W. Kilgore Ave, Muncie IN. Visitation will be from 10AM – 12PM, with Funeral starting at 12PM, with Danny Lewis officiating. Burial to immediately follow. Arrangements are made by Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
