Greta R. Lephart

Greta was the daughter of Mary (Craig) Garrett and Carson Garrett. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and dedication to her family and faith touched many lives.

Greta shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, David, who preceded her in death. She especially enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing dominoes, helping with church activities, and spending time fishing with her husband.

A faithful member of Harris Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Selma, Greta was always willing to lend a helping hand and serve others. Her church family was an important part of her life, and she found great fulfillment in supporting the congregation and its ministries.

Greta retired from Muncie Community Schools after many years of dedicated service. She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, caring spirit, and unwavering love for her family.

She is survived by her son, David J. Lephart (Patty); her daughter, Brenda R. Lephart-Slate; her grandchildren, Adam, Monica, Erin, Natalie, and Allie; her great-grandchildren, Case, Jamie, Carson, Colton, Anna, Cash, Nolan, Caleb, and Giovanni; her brother, Rick; her dear friend, Susan; and many loving extended family members.

In addition to her husband, David R. Lephart, Greta was preceded in death by her parents, Mary (Craig) Garrett and Carson Garrett; and her siblings, Robert, Ralph, Harold, Glen, Larry, Lois, and Chrystel.

Greta’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the warmth, compassion, and joy she brought to those around her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Kauffman officiating.
