Herschel S. Mason

H. Steven Mason, 67, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis surrounded by his family. He was born February 23, 1948 to Herschel G. and Dorothy (Holbein) Mason in Muncie, IN.

He graduated from South Side High School in 1966 and attended Ball State University. Steve had owned and operated the Oasis Bar & Grill in Muncie for over forty years. He was a member of the Elks, Green Hills Country Club, and the Delaware County Bar Owner's Association. Steve enjoyed playing golf, watching any sporting event, and being surrounded by family and good friends. He was a true sports fanatic.

He is survived by his best friend and partner of thirty-five years, Jerri K. Mason; daughter, Jill Michelle Mason; sister, Dianne Bradshaw; step-brother, Stephen W. Day; grandson, Kameron "Kamboy" Mason, several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Services are 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held at the Oasis immediately following the services. Cremation will take place and inurnment will be in the Elm Ridge Mausoleum at a later date.
