Ida Mae Brant, 68, Muncie, passed away Tuesday evening, April 2, 2019, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Ida was born Sunday, November 26, 1950, In Albany, Kentucky, the daughter of Denny and Jesse Pearl (Patton) Delk. She lived and grew up in Pall Mall, Tennessee. Ida was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and grand dog, Charlie. Ida enjoyed her morning coffee with her sister and friends, and her evenings were spent at various Blue Grass music events. Survivors include three sons, Dwayne Brant, Darrel Brant, and Anthony Brant; six grandchildren, Amanda (husband Justin) Ramsey, Alyssa Brant, Shelby Brant, Hope Brant, Anthony Brant, and Zachary Brant; four great-grandchildren, Brenna, Camryn, Malakai, and Maxine and a fifth great-grandbaby due in September; one sister, Helen Dowd; and one niece, Loretta Barley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Vernon Brant on March 7, 1998; and her longtime companion, Ronald Kissick.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.

Biography

Ida Mae Brant was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Ida will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

       She was the daughter of Denny and Jesse Pearl Delk. Ida grew up in Pall Mall, Tennessee. She had one sister, Helen.

      Ida worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Another blessing for Ida was the gift of six grandchildren, Amanda, Alyssa, Shelby, Hope, Anthony, and Zachary and four great-grandchildren, Brenna, Camryn, Malakai, and Maxine, plus another due in September.

     Ida was a homemaker. She enjoyed morning coffee time with her sister and friends and fun filled evenings going to Blue Grass music events. Most of all, Ida loved family time, especially with her grand children and great-grandchildren; and let's not forget her grand dog, Charlie.

      Ida passed away on April 2, 2019 at I. U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her children, Dwayne, Darrel, and Anthony; grandchildren, Amanda, Alyssa, Shelby, Hope, Anthony, and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Brenna, Camryn, Malakai, Maxine, and a great-grandbaby due in September; sister, Helen; and niece, Loretta.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph Vernon Brant on March 7, 1998; and her longtime companion, Ronald Kissick.

Services were held at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Ida was laid to rest in Beech Grove Cemetery, 1400 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47305.

      Simply stated, Ida was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Ida leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Ida Mae Brant.
