

Jacki was born February 23, 1942, in Elmira, New York, a beloved daughter of the late Kenneth Marlowe Hay and Virginia Whiting Hay. She grew up in Muncie, Indiana, where she attended Burris High School and subsequently graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Denison University where she was a Kappa Kappa Gamma.
Throughout her life, Jacki lived in several other communities, including Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; Neenah, Wisconsin; St. Louis, Missouri; Hoffman Estates and Wheaton, Illinois; Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Jacksonville Beach, Florida; and State College, Pennsylvania. In each place, she formed lasting friendships and left a meaningful impression on those around her.
Jacki’s was a devoted member of multiple Presbyterian Churches, including First Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa, AL and Palms Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville Beach, FL. Her Christian faith and fellowship were central to her life. She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a deep love for roses, dogs, and time spent at the beach. She was an accomplished pianist and had a special talent for sewing heirloom teddy bears, which became treasured keepsakes for family and many friends.
Jacki is survived by her sister, Nancy Wackman (Christopher); her daughter, Kim Marsh (Gene); and her son, Michael O’Harra (Cristy). She was a proud grandmother to Holland Ayres (Cameron), Kathryn O’Harra (Thomas), Meredith Cummings (Caleb), Emily Marsh, Will Marsh (Ashlyn), step-grandmother to Allison Marsh Pow (Alex), and a cherished great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren. Her family treasures the memory of many family travels and the love she shared so generously with many life-long friends.
Family and friends may gather Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, 47304. A service to honor her life will follow at 11:00 AM.
Jacki’s family is incredibly grateful for the care and guidance provided by her caregivers at Wellspring (State College, PA), Traditions Way at Capstone Village (Tuscaloosa, AL) and Hospice of West Alabama. The family especially appreciates the abundant kindness, care, and guidance from Bill Dixon (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL).
