Dear Krause Family, 
It was with a heavy heart that I heard of Jim's passing.  I remember fondly working for Jim in the summer helping to clear land for the roads in one of the subdivisions he built.  Jim left for lunch and gave me the keys to the bulldozer.   When he returned, I was driving it around pushing stumps into a pile.  He said I was doing a good job and let me drive it the rest of the afternoon.  I was on top of the world driving that bulldozer!  Jim was an excellent role model and mentor, helping to teach me building skills and a strong work ethic.  I pray God will give you peace knowing Jim is in Heaven looking down upon his loved ones! I am sorry to hear of Jim Krause's passing. As resident of Heron Pointe I've had a few opportunities to interact with him and Susan. He was a kind person. My prayers to the Krause family. Teresa Jeter

I rejoice in knowing that Jim is resting in Heavenly Peace with Our Heavenly Father. The bible tells us that to be absent from the earth is to be present with the Lord. Thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Krause family.  Our family had the privilege to have two condo built by his company.  His passion and determination made him a primer home builder.  Having had the honor to work hand in hand with him on the Heron Pointe homeowners association we will miss his honesty and integrity.

Thoughts and prayers to my cousins and their families.  As a child we enjoyed getting to know our cousins when you moved to Freeman. I was saddened to hear of your loss today. I was in Lowes when I heard and before getting out the door I probably spoke to at least 3 people that also had just heard of his passing. He was a well known and respected member of our trade.  Jim and I were competitors in the home building business but it never felt that way. He and I always worked well together, had good conversation and shared information when needed. I have always had the upmost respect for him as a business man and a member of our community. As the older generation of respectable and quality home builders goes away I sincerely hope that I can follow the high standards that builders like he had set.

There are a lot of measures of a person. Jim and Susie Krause will always be in our hearts because they stepped up and worked with us to get our family into one of their new homes even though we were in a very tight spot at the time! It is often so easy to forget very good friends, we have not and will not forget both Jim and Susie. We share your grief!

For several years I have worked with Jim on many of his landscape projects for his new and past built homes.   I have been honored to work for him for over 15 years now and truly considered him a friend and a mentor.   Jim taught me and my employees many things in the building industry and we worked hard to be sure he was pleased with the services that we provided him. I was shocked and saddened to learn of Jim's passing.He  was, without a doubt, the most ethical individual I have ever met. Ethics has been defined as how a person conducts himself when no one is looking...it is the true measure of a man. I was unaware of Jim's military service but not surprised as his very nature exemplified the high moral standard  foundational to The United States Marine Corps. This, I believe above all else, earned the respect of those who he dealt with professionally and endeared  him to those  fortunate enough to be counted as his friend.  Rick Buchan

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Jim. I was privileged to work for him as his Sheetrock Sub-Contractor over 12 years. We had an awesome working relationship together. I never had to worry about him paying me for the work after I was done. He trusted me to do his Sheetrock and to represent his name well in the building industry and for that I am thankful. I'm so sorry for your loss Mrs. Krause and my prayers are with you and the rest of the family.
