

He was born May 29, 1950 in Danville, Illinois, the son of Theodore Carl and Wilma Mildred (Huber) Krause. James was a 44 year resident of Muncie and graduated from Ball State University. He was a well respected home builder in the area for 37 years. James developed the Heron Pointe Estates and was instrumental in developing Deer Brooke Estates, The Landings, and several other subdivisions. As a volunteer, he went to Florida for FEMA, helping with post hurricane relief. His memberships include the Salem County Conservation Club where he enjoyed shooting with his grandson, Jaykeb. Mr. Krause was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Susan (Clark) Krause; his mom, Wilma Mildred (Huber) Krause; daughter, Wendy Howell; grandson, Jaykeb; brothers, John Krause, Chuck Krause, Mark Krause and Bill Krause; sister, Jennifer Meszaros; brother-in-law, Mark Clark; sister-in-law, Dona Hayes and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Theodore Carl Krause.
At his request, following cremation, a Celebration of Life Service will be held in Boca Grande, Florida. Following the service, family will take the outgoing tide off Boca Grande to scatter his ashes at his favorite fishing spot.
Elm Ridge Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements.
