He was born Monday, April 6, 1936, in Kansas, to the late Charles and Lillian (Williamson) Vincent. He graduated from Anderson University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, which helped him serve in many different roles at Payless, including Vice-President.
James is survived by his loving wife of two years, Karla Vincent; children, Mark Vincent and William Vincent; grandchildren, Stephanie Beard, Drew Williamson, Brent Williamson, Evan Williamson, Geordan Williamson, Elizabeth Vincent, and Josh Vincent; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Marilyn Vincent; parents, Charles and Lillian (Williamson) Vincent; a daughter, Connie Williamson; and two of his sisters, Mary Chadwick and Kay Kohrs.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Cremation will take place. Elm Ridge Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
