

Janice graduated from Royerton High School in 1949. She worked at Ball State University in food service. She went on to work as a housekeeper at Blackford County Hospital, then at St. Vincent Hospital in Frankfort, until her retirement.
Janice enjoyed quilting and going to church. She loved Jesus and was a devoted Christian. She was a breast cancer survivor of 30+ years. In 2016, Janice was unfortunately diagnosed with dementia.
Janice is survived by her children, Jane Sharkey, Joy (Ron) King, John (Wendy) Jones, Steve (Keilla) Jones, and Paul (Teresa) Jones; grandchildren, Jason Sharkey, Andy Sharkey, Holly (Shane) Gouge, Dustin (Amanda) Jones, Lauren (Justin) Vance, Bristi Frahm, Clayton (Rhea) Mitchell, Evan (Alex) Mitchell, Miranda (David) Culver, Tiffany Jones, and Troy (Taylor Hutto) Jones; 19 great-grandchildren; one niece, and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Wayne Janeway; son-in-law, Steve Sharkey; and former husband, John W. Jones.
Janice’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Signature Healthcare for the loving care that she received over the last 5 years.
A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, IN 47304, with Janice’s granddaughter, Bristi Frahm, officiating. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am until the time of the service, on Friday, at the funeral home.
