Jonene K. Adams

Jonene K. Adams, 83, of Selma, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at The Waters of Middletown Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on January 26, 1942, in Richmond, Indiana, to Sarah Lee and John Smith.

Jonene attended Richmond High School. After high school, she worked as a carhop waitress. Several years later, she married and moved to Muncie, Yorktown, and eventually Selma. She was a homemaker until 1986, when she divorced. She then went on to work as a clothing presser at Off Price World as well as at Marsh Supermarkets in the Deli department, until her retirement in 2010.

Jonene enjoyed sewing, crocheting, working puzzles, country music, Westerns, and animals. Her favorite animals were horses (Peeper), rabbits (Puffer), and cats (Morris).

Jonene is survived by her children, Brenda Carlson, Eric Romick, Karen Adams Finn, Gary Balser, Tim (Kristie) Adams, Joe (Natalie) Adams, and Monty Shane Adams; 5 grandchildren, Shayna Brown, Justin Romick, Matthew Romick, Dustin Adams, and Kaitelynn Adams; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, Sarah Lee and John Smith; son, Earl Adams Jr; and son-in-law, Scott Brian Finn.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 10 am until 11 am, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, IN 47304. Burial will take place in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.elmridgefuneralhome.com.
