Joseph Sparks

Muncie- Joseph Sparks, age 74, passed away January 6, 2017. Joseph was born in Lancaster, Kentucky to Frank and Ida (Lear) Sparks on January 16, 1942. Joseph attended New Covenant Ministries. He enjoyed outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, gardening. He attended school in Garrard County, Kentucky. He worked at Westinghouse and also worked in construction. Joseph was preceded in death by 7 brothers, Reuben, Johnny, James, Roy, Arnold, Leonard and Ben; sisters Elsie, and Shirley. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Edna Sparks; sons, Joseph Robert, and Franklin "Shawn" Sparks; daughter Cathy Renee Walker; 4 grandchildren, Victoria (Tyler Pipe) Walker, and Issabella Walker; Lora Sorrels, and Jimmie Sorrels; 5 great grandchildren, Gavin Pipe, Hannah, Naomi, Malachi, and Ezekiel. Sister-in-laws, Ruby Sparks, Brooks Sparks, Sarah (Robert) Monroe, and Flora (Gary) Davisson; brother-in-laws Charles (Mary) Fyffe, Ed Cepela, and Paul Monuger. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Joseph will be Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Avenue at 6:00 pm. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00pm till the time of the service. Private burial will be at a later date at Beech Grove Cemetery.
