

He was born Wednesday, February 18, 1970, in Muncie, the son of Thomas and Margaret (Waymire) Whitesel. Dean graduated from Yorktown High School in 1988. He was a HVAC Technician and worked for Pizza King. Dean was an amazing and loving husband, dad, and papaw. He was quiet and reserved, had a big heart, and would do anything for anyone who needed help. One of his hobbies was to work on cars, buy and sell cars, and go to car shows. Dean was a Desert Storm veteran and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Lari Lyn (Clanin) Whitesel; daughters, Kelcey Lyn (significant other, Lyle Whitehead) (son-in-law, Brock) Gibson, and Lindsey (significant other, Ben Wright) Whitesel; grandchildren, Ryder William Gibson, and Luke Gunner Gibson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda and James Clupper; stepfather, Jim Headley; sister-in-law, Beth (husband, Doug) Erickson; step-sister-in-law, Michele Headley; and several other loved family members.
He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Thomas Whitesel and Margaret Whitesel Headley; maternal grandparents, Gib and Mary Margaret Fuller; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Mildred Whitesel; and a step-brother, Scott Headley.
Services will be held 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2018, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with Military Rites by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard. Private burial will be in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
