Joyce was born in Muncie, Indiana to John Hiatt and Virginia Spurlock. She loved to shop for antiques and travel in her younger years. Joyce loved her son-in-law, Jason Hall and would tease saying she wished she could have found a man like him. Joyce loved to read, she said she loved the feel of the pages and you cannot get that from the internet. Nothing like curling up to a good book and drifting away.
Joyce leaves behind, her loving daughter, Kelly (husband, Jason) Hall of Anderson; grandchildren, Ashley Callahan, Devin Callahan, Alex Hall, Sean Hall, and Eve Hall, all of Anderson; great-granddaughter, Ivy Hall of Anderson; her siblings from her father, John (wife, Phyllis) Hiatt: Steve Hiatt, Cathy Nolting and Linda Sherman, all from Indiana; her siblings from her mother, Virginia (husband, Bill) Spurlock: Pam Spurlock and Susie Bunker, all of Utah; many nieces; nephews; great nieces; and great nephews.
Her husband, Peter Wood; father, John Hiatt; stepmother, Phyllis Hiatt; mother, Virginia Spurlock; stepfather, Bill Spurlock; grandfather, brothers, Tim Spurlock and David Spurlock; General Lee Green; grandmother, Lola Green; and an aunt, Ruth Murry, preceded Joyce in death.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Anew Hospice for their love and kindness and to Darian Berry for her help over the last couple of years for helping with Joyce and to Donna Warren for her love and friendship she shared with Joyce.
