

She was born November 29, 1939 in Shelbyville, Indiana, the daughter of Charles W. and Lola A. (Sipes) Tucker. Julia graduated from Indiana University, receiving her degree as Registered Nurse. She worked at New Castle Development Center for 28 years until she retired. Julia was a member of Cumberland Christian Church, Cumberland, Indiana, and the Middletown Order of the Eastern Star (O.E.S.) Chapter #110, where she was Past Worthy Matron, and also served in different chairs within the lodge during her years a member. Julia was also a member of Community Hospital Craft Guild, and she was a gifted artist and was know as the "Blind Artist" at Community Hospital East. She was a beloved member of the Green Thumb Garden Club, and enjoyed working in her yard. Julia enjoyed crocheting, and traveling. She was also an historian and would tell you about her travels.
Survivors include her sons, Dale Ray, Robert Brie Hinkle; daughter, Lori (husband Danny) Burton; grandchildren, Anna Burton, Troy Burton, Taylor Raye Hinkle, Kierston Gibson, and special friend, Mark Atchison. Also surviving is her ex husband, Logan Crabtree.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Dennis Cole.
Ms. Cole used to have a daughter; Liza Ann Hinkle Lycan, a grandson; William Brie Lycan, and a granddaughter; Elisha Ann Lycan Malone. A great grandson, Tucker Malone and a great granddaughter, (name unknown) she never had the joy to meet. Similarly, Julia never had the joy to meet her only sister, Sue Ann Tucker who died at birth on December 8, 1947.
Private services will be held by the family at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, IN 47304. Burial will be at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
