June Elaine Poore

June E. Poore, 71, of Muncie passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Brickyard Health Center in Muncie. Born in Muncie, IN, on June 20, 1954, she was the daughter of James “Jim” Howard Arnold and Juanita Davis.

June was a graduate of Muncie Southside High School and Ivy Tech. She worked at Thomas Auditing for many years, as well as cleaning different banks and business offices. She also worked at Gentis-Huber Dry Cleaners, alongside her mother and sister. June’s favorite past time was playing cards and shooting pool. She was a sociable person who had a heart of gold and loved everyone, welcoming others with open arms. She will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

June is survived by her daughter, Heather (Rev. Ellsworth “James”) McGuire; granddaughters, Amelia Scott, Amanda (Fiancé, David Gadd) Ivey, Shakayla McGuire, Jasmine Avery-McGuire, Briya McGuire, and Dashay (Jarvis) Conner; grandson, Ellsworth McGuire, JR.; great-granddaughters, Ja’Kyla McGuire-Conner and Jaide Conner; great-grandsons, Cameron Avery-McGuire and Hunter Perry; sisters, Linda (Bob) Clements, Lisa (Johnny Peercy) Davis and Cheryl Davis; nieces, Dawn Crawley and Chelsie Rose; nephew, Kirby Peercy; and lifetime friend who was like family to June, Sonia (Chuck) McCormick.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, a beloved brother to whom she was very close with, Jim “Jimmy” Lee Arnold and adopted stepsister, Michelle Foust.

A private burial will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026. June will be laid to rest next to her mother in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
