Lois Wehrle, 101, of Warren, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at Heritage Pointe of Warren. She was born in Achille, Oklahoma on June 25, 1924, to George McCorkel and Zelma (Parker) McCorkel. Lois married Joseph L. Wehrle, and he preceded her in passing on March 17, 2000.
Lois was a gentle soul whose kindness and love touched all who knew her. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs and cats, and it was not uncommon to find her caring for and feeding stray cats, ensuring they were never forgotten. Her compassion extended beyond her home, as she generously volunteered her time at local animal shelters, always advocating for those without a voice.
Known for her constant smile, Lois was friendly, outgoing, and loved to talk. She had a natural warmth that drew people in, and conversations with her were often filled with laughter, stories, and genuine interest in others. Lois always carried herself with grace, dainty in nature and truly a lady in every sense of the word.
Lois was also a talented artist with a deep love for painting, especially oil painting. Her creativity and eye for beauty live on through her artwork. She also delighted in antiquing, finding beauty and history in treasured pieces from the past.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Joyce Coffman; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; and special friend Karen Gerbers.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Joseph; son, Jim Wehrle; son-in-law, Rodney Coffman; 1 grandson; sister, Opal; and brothers, George and James.
Lois appreciated the caregivers of Heritage Pointe of Warren and her care team from Stillwater Hospice for making her final years comfortable and enjoyable.
A private entombment will be held at the Elm Ridge Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Lennox Legacy Rescue Inc., 4777 N. 375 E., Decatur, IN 46733.
