(6/13/1942 – 11/3/2023)
Louise Lynn Eddington, age 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 3, 2023 following a brief illness. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 13, 1942, eldest daughter of Frank M. Arnold, Jr. and Florence E. Arnold. Louise traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad during her early and high school years. She graduated from Ottawa University (Ottawa, Kansas) with degrees in music education and organ performance, later receiving her Masters’ Degree in Music Education from Ball State University (Muncie, Indiana).
In 1964, Louise began a long and distinguished career as an elementary music teacher in Muncie—first at Blaine Elementary School and later at Garfield Elementary School, from which she retired in 1997 after 33 years. Louise devoted significant time to professional and volunteer activities, and was an active member at First Baptist Church and later High Street Methodist church for many years. More recently, Louise developed significant talents in arts and crafts—particularly her passion for cardmaking that she lovingly shared with so many.
Her former spouse, Robert Eddington, as well as her beloved mother and father preceded Louise in death.
Louise is survived by her son, Robert Jelani Eddington of Racine, Wisconsin, and by her sister, Jean F. Cirak of Merida, Mexico, and her brother, Frank M. Arnold III of Charleston, South Carolina.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, at High Street United Methodist Church, 219 South High Street, Muncie, Indiana 47305 with Pastor Teri Crouse officiating.
