Marilyn Ann Coop-Williamson, 83, peacefully passed away with her family by her side at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital on April 6, 2024.
She was born August 24, 1940 in Muncie, Indiana to Opal and Dallas Coop. Marilyn was a graduate of Central High School in 1958. She proudly graduated with her Bachelor of Science in 1980 and her Master’s degree in gerontology at Ball State University in 1982. Marilyn was a resilient soul who faced life’s challenges with a silent grace and strength, despite many co-occurring illnesses. Marilyn’s life was a testament to perseverance and resiliency. She found solace in expressing her love to her husband, Omer, and many family members in her last couple of days. Marilyn enjoyed her dogs, especially Clare, who was her best friend. She also loved the cookies that her neighbor, Barbara Selvey would make for her all the time. Her husband, Omer was her unwavering primary caregiver. Her niece, Carol always made sure her hair and nails were perfect. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with Carol, Carol‘s daughter, Taylor, and her great niece, Elysian. Marilyn was an adventurous person who loved going out to eat, shopping and traveling to see family.
Her family would like to thank everyone in the medical field who took care of her throughout the years.
Surviving family members are her husband, Omer Williamson; sons, Brian, and Derek, and his wife, Jill; daughter, Holli; brother, John, and his wife, Sue; sister, Deanna, and her husband, Kenny; grandchildren, Benjamin , Elizabeth, Lorenzo and Chiara; great grandchild, Emily; and many nieces and nephews.
