Marvin DeWayne Bookout

He was born Sunday, April 23, 1939, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Marvin and Lois Wanda (Tomey) Bookout. Marvin retired from General Motors after thirty-two years. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling. Marvin was active in the Moose Lodge. He was President of 9th District, President of the State organization, Deputy Supreme Governor for two years, and was on the Ritual Team for several years.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Bettie Bookout; four sons, Jim (wife, Lucy) Bookout, Timothy (friend, Tami) Bookout, Michael (wife, Mary) Bookout, and Jeffrey (wife, Rhonda) Bookout; two brothers, Darwin (friend, Lois) Bookout, and DeWight (wife, Donna) Bookout; two sisters, June (husband, Ray) Collins, and Sue (husband, Roger) Long; he was blessed with fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Lois Wanda Bookout.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with Pastor Johnson officiating. Burial with graveside services will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
