A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, friend, and lifelong resident of Muncie, Mary was a woman of unwavering faith and a faithful member of Glad Tidings Church throughout her life. Her relationship with God guided her daily, and she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving alongside her church family.
She enjoyed playing tennis and bowling and was once a member of a bowling league, where her cheerful spirit and friendly competition brought smiles to those around her. Each winter, she and her beloved husband, William, looked forward to escaping to Arizona, creating treasured memories together and enjoying the warmth, beauty, and friendships they found there.
She was an avid basketball fan who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her beloved Indiana University Hoosiers and the Indiana Fever. Whether watching a game from home or celebrating a big win, her passion for basketball was unmistakable.
At home, Mary found happiness in tending to her landscaping, creating beautiful outdoor spaces that reflected her care and creativity. She also loved working puzzles and could often be found with a good book in hand. Her favorite author, James Patterson, kept her entertained through countless stories, and reading remained one of her greatest pleasures throughout her life.
Mary is survived by her granddaughter, Cortney Hornbaker; great-grandchildren, Aurora Prince and Dylan Prince II; and step-sons, Robert Michael and Jerry Michael.
She was preceded in passing by her husband, William Michael; daughter, Kimberly Hornbaker; brothers, Robert Miller and Bill Miller; and her parents.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, 47304. A funeral service to honor her life will follow at 1:00 PM.
