Mary Christina Tate

Mary Christina Tate, affectionately known as Christina, 76, of Richmond, passed away on December 4, 2025, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. She was born on February 25, 1949, to Green Cornett and Mandy (Lewis) Reynolds. Christina was married to Charles David Tate for 53 years until his passing on October 13, 2018.

Christina enjoyed painting and doing crafts. She also enjoyed fishing and traveling, but Christina especially had a passion for cooking. She loved preparing meals big enough to feed the whole neighborhood. To many, she was affectionately known as the neighborhood’s grandma, offering warmth, generosity, and love to all around her.

Christina is survived by her grandchildren, Duran Tate, Teana Toney, Trayn Charles, and Julia Wyatt; cousins, Jeff (Margaret) Lewis, Justin (Lucinda) Lewis, Dallas (Noelle) Lewis, and Heather (Brandon) Brooks; Phoenix, Vivian, Matthew, Hannah, and Jazmily, who she loved like her own grandchildren; special friends, Elaine West, Wesley Walls, and her special church friend, Lisa; as well as many other friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, David Tate; and her daughter Holly Lynn Wyatt.
