Mary Graves Wise

She was born Saturday, January 3, 1925 in Indiana, the daughter of Noel and Fawnie (Reed) Ware. Mary earned a Masters Degree from Ball State University, and Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University. Mary was proud of her life-long career, over 25 years, as Director of Dietetics at Ball Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1989. After retirement, she became a dietetic consultant for local nursing homes.

Mary enjoyed many years of world travel, visiting her children and grandchildren, and loved all kinds of dancing, including ballroom dancing, line dancing, and square dancing. She was a member of College Avenue Methodist Church for over 50 years. Mary was also heavily involved in community service organizations, such as Altrusa and the P.E.O. Sisterhood for over 50 years.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew E. Wise, who she married in July, 2004; one son Larry D. Myers (wife Colette); one sister Rosalind (husband Maury) Truesdell, five grandchildren, Lindsey, David, Melanie, Laura, and Michelle, six great-grandchildren, and multiple nieces, nephews and step-children and step-grandchildren.

Services were held on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.

Memorial contributions may be made to College Avenue Methodist Church, 1968 W. Main Street, Muncie, Indiana 47303, in memory of Mary.
