Max E. Pratt

Max Eugene Pratt, 90, of Muncie, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021, at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born in Muncie, Indiana, on Monday, September 22, 1930, to Harold and Lulu (Branden) Pratt. Max graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1948, and was a proud Bearcat. He worked for Warner Gear from 1949-1951, and was then drafted into the Army. Max proudly served his country from 1951-1953. When he returned home, he returned to Warner Gear for thirteen years. He then became a police officer and joined the force at Muncie Police Department. Max served his community for thirty-two years before retiring. Max was a member of the Muncie F.O.P. and was a hard-working family man. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and sports. His favorite teams were the Pacers, Colts, Fighting Irish, Muncie Central Bearcats. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing. Max and Lynnette were members of the Blue Knights, and Max even built his own motorcycle. Max loved his family and they loved him. He will truly be missed. Max is survived by his loving wife of thirty-two years, Lynnette (Rambo) Pratt; sons, Mike “Bubba” Pratt and Michael (Julie) Phelps; daughters, Nancy Pratt, Tammi (Auther) Williams, and Tara Floyd; grandchildren, Madyson (Everett) Dunn, Isaiah (Emma) Pointer, Kelsey Stoner, Johnny White Jr (Shannon), Lenea Bynum, Kristian Phelps (Autumn Rose), and Alexis Floyd; and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronnie Pratt; two brothers, Paul and Guy Pratt; and a sister, Lucille. Family and friends may call on Saturday, April 10, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Services will be Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Rusty Clements will officiate. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a mask is required as well as social distancing.
