Michael Lee Shank

He was born Wednesday, September 9, 1942, in Winchester, the son of Lee and Frances (Miller) Shank. Mike graduated from Parker High School in 1960. He attended Ball State Teachers College and Indiana Business College. Mike spent twenty-one years in banking in Muncie, Indiana and Sheboygan, Wisconsin. In 1985 he owned and operated Wild Birds Unlimited for ten years. He enjoyed animals, bird watching, and traveling. His hobbies included fishing, hunting with his father, and racing homing pigeons.

Survivors include his wife of over sixty years, Diana L. (Flesher) Shank; daughters, Amy (husband, Dean) Bultemeyer, and Jennifer (husband, Jerry) Parsons; grandchildren, Zachary, Audie (husband, Brian) Wirthlin, Nolan Parsons, Conrad, Chloe, Christian Bultemeyer, and great-granddaughter Suttyn Wirthlin along with several close cousin, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Frances Shank; infant brother, David E. Shank; grandparents, Roy and Hariett Shank; and Harry Miller; and Mildred Courteau.

Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.

Family and friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in Mike’s honor may be directed to North Winona Church of the Brethren in lieu of flowers.
