Gladys P. McWhorter age 87, of Hamilton, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at her residence. Her family members were by her side when she went home to be with the Lord. She was born in Rockcastle County, Kentucky the daughter of Steve and Armine (Settles) Gabbard. She married Robert D. McWhorter on July 22, 1950 in Liberty, Indiana. Gladys was a member of Princeton Pike Church of God and she loved traveling. Gladys, known as Gabby to many, was a loving mother with a servant's heart, and always willing to help others. She was a very fun-loving friend to many. She is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughters, Diane (David) Moore , Franklin, Ohio and Robin (Mike) Terry, Hamilton; her son, Phil (Kim) McWhorter, Palm Bay, Florida; grandchildren, Christy (Zach) Dixon, twins, Cheri (Dave) Graham and Melissa (Eric) Abrams, Ryan McWhorter, Ashlee (Mark) Daley, Scott ( Leesa) Terry and Kelsey Terry and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Alvie, Herbert, Merle, Earl, Glendon and Carl and five sisters, Nola, Mae, Marie, Ora and Lou.
