Dorothy Cathers-Center, age 94 of Hamilton, passed away peacefully at her home, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. She was born in London, KY on June 6, 1920 to Moses and Smantha (Baker) Proffitt. She was the last charter member of Cherry Valley United Baptist Church. She loved God and her family. She enjoyed attending church, spending time with her family, and playing dominoes with her loved ones. On January 16, 1937 she married Lewis Elbert Cathers, and he preceded her in death on October 1, 1970. On April 14, 1984 she married Dorsie Center, and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1996.

She is survived by her children; Robert (Betty) Cathers, Mary Collins, Marie (Steve) Wagers, A.B. (Carla) Cathers, Naomi (Rick) Rouse; daughter in law, Linda (Dean) Cathers-Johnson; stepchildren, Imogene Johnson and Ernest Center; 19 grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 17 step great-grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; and 4 step great-great grandchildren; and special friends, Peggy Preston and Greg Koedel. She was preceded in death by parents, her son Charles A. Cathers; 6 step children; and 13 brothers and sisters.
