She was born in Muncie, Indiana, on June 12, 1925, and attended Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. Pat went on to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in the liberal arts from Indiana University, as well as a Master of Education from Wayne State University.
Patricia taught in Ohio, Michigan, Morocco, France, and in Indianapolis at both Warren Central High School and North Central High School. While at North Central, she was granted the Hoosier Teacher of English Award in 1982 followed by the Outstanding High School Teacher Award from the University of Chicago in 1983. After 21 years of teaching at North Central High School, Pat retired in 1990.
Survivors include nephew, John Maas; nieces, Tina Maas and Pam Maas Maciak.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Nita Yingling Maas.
A private burial was held at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie where she was laid to rest next to her parents.
