OBITUARY

Patrick Dale Daniels

November 1, 1945September 11, 2019

Patrick Dale Daniels, 73, of Muncie, Indiana passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Morrison Woods Health Campus. He was born Thursday, November 1, 1945, the son of Richard Dale and Edith Marie (Holm) Daniels.

Patrick married Marcia McIver on April 20, 1968. He was a loving family man, loved to ride motorcycles, and was of the Protestant faith. He attended Junior College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. During his time as a student at Scotts Bluff County College, its funding and operation came in to question. Patrick and many of his classmates organized a student group to encourage a wider-based support foundation from outside the county. Through their efforts, the public voted to expand the base, and the college became Nebraska Western College in 1968. That college has flourished and is now known as Western Nebraska Community College. He then came to Muncie, Indiana where he attended Ball State University and received his B.A. in English. Patrick worked as a Supervisor at Delco Battery/Delphi Automotive until he retired in 2005.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marcia; daughters, Alicia Foster and Melissa Daniels; brother, Tim Daniels (wife, Sandy) from Omaha, Nebraska; sister, Karen Thery (husband, Ken) from Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Grandchildren include: Ariana Foster, Hosea Boykin, Zachary Foster, Destinie Conwell, and Xander Baxter; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Edith Daniels; one brother, Richard A. (Mike) Daniels.

Services to honor Patrick will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, with Pastor Kyle Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Pat was a good guy and cousin with a kind family. We (Aunt June and I) always enjoyed visiting with Pat, Marcia, Alicia and Melissa. Now Pat is in heaven with all the Aunts and Uncles and Parents meeting for singing and coffee bread and a few lively discussions on politics : ) We'll miss him.

My heart goes out to Marcia, Alicia, Melissa and families and I wish I could be there to celebrate Pat's life. I'll be thinking and praying for you all this morning and in the days to come. Pat had a great voice - I remember those Daniel boys (including Uncle Dick) singing those good men's quartet songs (with vigor!) and I was in awe watching him on stage when he was in high school. He was a force in life - stubborn like the rest of us - and kind, and loved greatly by family and friends.

I am unable to attend the services due to the distance and the commitment of owning my own business. I have many fond memories as a child, spending time with Uncle Pat, Aunt Marcia and my cousins, Melissa and Alicia. He was always very kind and poised and handsome. He was a strong family man, and always made me feel very loved and appreciated, despite the distance that separated us. My thoughts and prayers are with my family in this sorrowful time. I wish I were able to be with you all. I just can't believe he is gone! But I am thankful that he is in a better place and is no longer dealing with any pain. My love to you all! Bless you, Uncle Pat!

Due to distance, I only saw cousin Pat a handful of times in my lifetime, but I could tell he was such a kind and genuine man. My family and I are praying for his family during this time and send them our love and condolences.

Another big loss to the Daniels family. I very much regret not being able to attend the memorial service due to traveling. I have wonderful memories of meeting the Daniels family--what a great family to marry into. My Steve had so many stories and memories of being with his cousins, Mike, Tim and Pat. I loved the humor and kidding and teasing--all in love, of course. And, the music!! Pat will be greatly missed. He was always so kind to me. My thoughts and prayers are with Marcia and family. I know this journey is a hard one. Love, Nancy
