

She was born Wednesday, March 15, 1950, to Harry and Carrie (Ayers) Sparks. Phyllis married Karl Fredrick Adams and they shared over forty-eight years together before he passed away on January 19, 2018.
Phyllis was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was loving, caring, always smiling, and helping the family. She enjoyed family dinners with the extended family all coming together, and she especially enjoyed Pizza King. A few of her favorite shows were Matlock, MASH, Columbo, and Andy Griffith. She loved the Beatles, playing cards, and listening to her granddaughter’s mixed tapes recorded on the karaoke machine. She was most proud of her children and grandchildren but also loved her dog.
Phyllis leaves behind to cherish her memories, a son, John Adams; two daughters, Elaine Folley (husband, Jack) and Cindy Greene (husband, Doug); sisters, Mary Broughton and Connie Miribito; grandchildren, Laine Norris, Jessika Bowen, Jesse Duckworth, Carrie Adams, John Adams Jr., Josh Rudman, Kim Twigg, and Norman Barbour; great-grandchildren, Jimmy Watson IV, Sophia Watson, Ava Rudman, Parker Norris, Raeleigh Barbour, Serenity Barbour, Avery Twigg, Jersey Duckworth, and Jazzlin Duckworth; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Fredrick Adams; her son, Karl Eugene Adams; her parents, Harry and Carrie Sparks; sisters, Ruby Ludlow, Glenna Belcher, and Edna Long; and brothers, Jacky, Johnny, and Jerry Sparks.
Graveside services are being planned at a later date. Cremation will take place and then inurnment at Strong Cemetery in Albany, Indiana. Elm Ridge Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
