Richard Wayne Metcalfe

He was born December 20, 1953 in Muncie, the son of Eugene and Ruth Ann Metcalf. Richard enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing the drums. He loved his family, especially his kids and grandkids. Richard attended the Corinth Congregational Christian Church. Mr. Metcalfe served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include five children, Ryan Metcalf, Angela Balfour, Randy Metcalfe, Eric Metcalfe (wife Jamie), and Jonathon McConnell (wife Erica); his parents, Eugene and Ruth Metcalf; four sisters, Sandra Lee (husband Jack), Sharon Jackson, Shirley Keller (husband Tim) and Janice Hassett (husband Ron); fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and his canine companion, "Sadie".

Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, IN 47304 with Pastor Tracy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park with Military Rites by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.

Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
