Robert William Flores

October 18, 1979December 26, 2020

Robert William Flores, 41 of Muncie, IN passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020. He was born in Crown Point, Indiana, on Thursday, October 18, 1979, to Robert and Kathleen Flores.

Rob grew up in Lowell and was active in soccer and baseball. After leaving Lowell, Rob traveled the country working. He settled in Muncie where he resided until his death. Rob loved to help others. He was able to work with Habitat for Humanity building houses and volunteer at the local food bank. He loved watching his nephews and niece play soccer, basketball, and perform in plays. He was so proud of their accomplishments.

Rob loved the Chicago Bears and his Chicago Cubs. Some of his best times were spent with friends at Wrigley Field. You can take the boy out of the Region, but you can’t take the Region out of the boy. Rob loved Michigan, where he had great childhood memories, and Vegas, where he loved to party. He had the best smile and could make anyone laugh. It was usually at the expense of one of his sisters. He would give you the shirt off his back and pick up a conversation like he had talked to you yesterday even if it had been a year. Rob also loved animals. His best friend of 10 years was Madden, aka, Mad Dog. He also adopted a cat named Frank, who spent his final months being loved on by Rob.

Rob, we love you to the moon and back and we will see you on the other side of the stars.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Kathleen Flores (Bill Robinson); sisters, Melissa (Andre) Hernandez, Elizabeth (Jess) Willard, and Megan Flores; nephews, Sam and Ben Hernandez, and Henry Willard; and niece, Abby Hernandez. He has also left behind many life-long friends, some as far back as kindergarten.

Due to COVID restrictions, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local humane society, the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana, or Alice’s House of Valparaiso.

I remember Robby as a kindergarten student. He was such a sweet and kind little boy.
In his later years he became friends with my son Jake. My heart goes out to Rob’s parents as well as his sisters for your loss.My thoughts and prayers are with all of your families.

What a special guy Rob was. I knew Rob when he was young from playing soccer with my son Nick, but got to know him better when he lived with Nick for a couple of years in Indianapolis . He fell in love with Nick’s dog Madden. When Nick moved and could no longer keep Madden Rob took him in . He really loved that dog. He would often message me or text and let me know how madden was doing. He knew I loved him as much as he did When Madden passed he personally messaged me and let me know . He was so heartbroken. He lost his best friend . Loved his smile his laughter and his joy for life. He is truly going to be missed . Rest In Peace my friend.

My Uncle Rob was the only guy of 4 siblings and it showed in how he loved me and my brother. He would be loud and fun and always come and do things my aunts and mom wouldn’t want to do. He took care of us when he was with us and still knew when to just be a warm hug. He’d text me just to see if I was okay, and many times just that would make me smile. I miss him a lot more than it may show, and I only wish that my brother and sister got to know him more. I miss you Uncle Rob, and I know I’ll see you again someday.
