Robert E. Hiatt Jr.

After graduating high school, Robert served his country proudly in the Army National Guard and attended classes at Ball State University. He served as a corrections officer at Pendelton Correctional Facility, retiring in 2013, after 17 years of service. Robert enjoyed classic cars and all animals, especially dogs.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Joan (Roysden) Hiatt; children, Desiree Hiatt - Wright, and Chad Hiatt; grandchildren, Drew (Queahn) Wright, and Hayley (Tate) Evelyn; great-grandchildren, William, and Margot; a sister, Leslie (Mark) Cross; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special dog, Molly.

Robert was preceded in death by both of his parents, Robert E. Hiatt Sr., and Juanita Louise (Irlan) Hiatt.

A public visitation for Robert will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Elm Ridge Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.

Funeral services and military honors are to follow promptly at 11:00 AM at the same location.
