Robert D. Kern

He was born to Charles E. and Mary Eloise (Dawson) September 2, 1936 in Muncie and graduated from Royerton High School in 1954.

Robert was a co-owner of Precision Printing for several years.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge #33, Sons of AMVETS, and the Hoosier Cruisers and C.I.O.C.C. Also, he enjoyed traveling, bowling, and playing golf.

Robert is survived by his wife whom he married February 5, 1955, Patricia (Redmond) Kern; daughters, Alicia (Wayne) Zearbaugh, Karen (Bob) Erk, and Kay (fiance' John Wilkerson) Miller; brothers, Keith (Carol) Kern and Richard (Jayne) Kern; sisters, Joanne Terrell and Sandra (Larry) McKinnon ; sisters in-law, Noreen Russell and Kathleen Gruwell; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Phillip Kern; son in-law, Gil Miller; brother, Jon Kern; brothers in-law, Bill Gaskill, Donn Russell, and Clint Terrell.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Services will be on Wednesday at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Eldon Morehouse officiating.

Burial will be at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
