

He was born Tuesday, November 15, 1927, in Muncie, the son of Parker and Sara (Longenecker) Moore. Robert was an avid golfer and he enjoyed bowling. He retired from the Muncie Fire Department as Captain in 1990 after forty years of service to the community. At the time of his death, Robert was the oldest and most senior member of the Muncie Fire Department. Robert served his country in the United States Army.
Survivors include his son, Terry Moore; sister, Sue (husband, Rex) Carter; grandchildren, Thomas (wife, Rose), Javon, Michelle, Carmen, Skye, and Amanda; step-grandson, Mark (wife, Ashley) Rich; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Parker Moore; his mom, Sara Nelson; step-dad, Harry Nelson; his wife in 2010, Joyce A. Moore; daughter, Marty Molton; and his daughter-in-law, Denise Moore.
A Last Alarm will be sounded at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2020, at Fire Station Number 1 in honor of Robert. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Elm Ridge Memorial Park with Allie Craycraft officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
