Rodney Evans,57, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away Monday November 24, 2025, at UofL Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born May 20, 1968, in Los Angeles, California, the son of Ralph Evans and Dolores Hemsworth.
Rodney lived a life full of passion, rhythm, and heart. Whether he was cheering on his beloved Colts—win or lose—or settling in to watch his favorite wrestling matches, he embraced his interests with enthusiasm and loyalty.
A gifted musician, he found joy in the strings of his guitar and the beat of his drums. Music wasn’t just a hobby—it was a language he spoke fluently. His love of sound stretched across genres— from the storytelling soul of country music to the electrifying pulse of rock and the colorful warmth of Mexican music. Wherever he went, a melody seemed to follow.
A man of remarkable dedication, Rodney was known for his strong work ethic and genuine passion for his career as a slot machine technician. He took pride in doing his job well, approaching each task with focus, care, and a sense of responsibility that earned him the respect of everyone he worked with.
He deeply valued the time he spent with the people he loved. He especially cherished the moments when he could eat out with his dad—simple, happy times that meant the world to him. More than anything, he loved spending time with “his woman,” who brought out the best in him and shared his favorite experiences. He was also a steadfast and supportive father, endlessly proud of his children. His face lit up whenever he spoke of them, and his love for them was unmistakable.
Rodney is survived by “his woman”, Guadalupe Evans; children, Jennifer, Mario, Nickolas, Veronica; grandchildren, Ivan, Alicia, Alina, Inez, Jayson; father, Ralph Evans; mother, Dolores Hemsworth; and furry friends, Lotto, Alana and Loyalty.
He was preceded in passing by his grandmother, Mary Evans.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
