Shirley Joan Thomas

She was born August 20, 1935 in Muncie, the daughter of Ross A. and Dorothy M. (Oliver) Peden. Shirley grew up in Muncie and graduated from Muncie Central High School.

Survivors include her husband, Charles H. Thomas; two sons, Timothy Skillman and Charles "Bud" Thomas Jr.; daughter, Deborah S. Moles; sister, Judith Peden; brother, Thomas (wife Judith) Peden; three grandchildren, Jerry E. Moles II, Larry P. Moles II and Amie L. Moles; five great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph E. Skillman on March 14, 1972; her parents, Ross A. and Dorothy M. (Oliver) Peden; daughter, Sheila J. Moles; and a brother, David Peden.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2017 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, IN 47304 with Pastor Linda McBride officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
