Tamara "Tammy" Jo Rix

Tamara Jo “Tammy” Rix, 64, of Carmel, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021. She was born Thursday, November 21, 1957, to Donald Rix and Donna (Cox) Marter. She was a 1976 graduate of Yorktown High School.

Tammy worked for Marsh Supermarkets in Muncie, Logansport, and Indianapolis for thirty-nine years before retiring in 2013. She was a dedicated, hardworking person that loved her jobs as Deli Specialist, Deli Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Human Resources Associate. Tammy loved crafts, cats, and volunteering at Brookside Community Center. Above all, she loved her family and her grandchildren were her world.

Tammy leaves behind to cherish her memories, her son, Jeremy (Amanda) Rix; brother, Donald Rix Jr. (wife, Liz); grandchildren, Shawn Rix, Jeremy Rix Jr., and Angel Rix; nieces, Christy Wheadon, Kayla (Chad) Wheadon, Jennifer (Matt) Reynolds, and Jessica (Phil) Rix.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Donna; and a sister, Carol Wheadon.

Friends and family may call on Monday, December 6, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.

Services will be on Monday, December 6, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Rusty Clements will officiate.

Burial will immediately follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
