Born and raised with strong family values, Bill spent many of his summer days on his grandparents’ farm as a child. The quiet rhythm of farm life stayed with him throughout his life, grounding him in gratitude.
Driven by a sense of duty and honor, he proudly served in the United States Army. After the military, Bill went on to work at Oren Corp., and Luick Quality Tool and Gauge. His hard work and dedication to his profession were some of his greatest sources of pride.
Bill was known by all as a man of unwavering trustworthiness. He cared deeply for his family and showed his love through action—always ready to help, always the first to step forward, and never one to ask for anything in return. He lived with a quiet strength, preferring to serve others rather than be served himself.
Outside of his service and work, he found joy in the simple pleasures that made life rich. He was an avid golfer who cherished time on the course, whether he was perfecting his swing or simply enjoying the company of friends. He also loved to travel with his wife, Judy. Together, they traveled to all 50 states, and made a special trip to visit The Holy Land. Most of all, they especially loved to travel and visit family. No distance was too far when it came to the people he loved most.
Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, his warm smile, and his unwavering dedication to the people and values he held dear. He leaves behind a legacy of service, love, humility, and integrity.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Judy Gordon; children, Jeff (Rheta) Gordon and Beth (Kevin) Walz; grandchildren, Brittney (Kyle) Kjormoe, Brad (Beth) Gordon, Emily Walz, Katie Walz and Jacob Walz; great-grandchildren, Kael Kjormoe, Ellana Kjormoe, Brielle Kjormoe, and Aletta Gordon; siblings, Sheila (Don) Schneider and Becky (Bruce) Wiele.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Delmar Gordon, Lucille (Gordon) Eckey, and Ralph Eckey; and a special Uncle and Aunt, Jim and Maisie Green.
Visitation will take place Friday, April 17, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2801 W Riverside Ave, Muncie, IN 47304. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
