

He was born in Shoopman, KY to the late Robert N. and Una A. Davis. Glen enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a friend to everyone and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He faithfully served the Lord and led by example. He was a member of The Garden at Gethsemane in Muncie and was a devoted servant to the Lord. He loved his church and his church friends dearly. He once said all he wanted in life was to serve the Lord and to raise his children in a Christian home. That mission was certainly accomplished well and always with joy.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by two daughters, Sheri Rodgers James Belcher) and Susan Bourne (Jeffery), one brother Harold Davis (Minnie), one granddaughter, Shantelle Smith (Charles), one grandson, Bradley Rodgers (Whitley), seven great grandchildren, Jayda, Cheyann, Falynn, and Dexten Smith and Gabriel, Judah, and Josiah Rodgers. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law Sandra Barber, Betty Davis, and Kay Morton, brother-in-law Dean Bickel (Sherry), and numerous nieces and nephews - each and every one very special to him.
Glen attended elementary school in McCreary County, Kentucky before his family moved to Muncie. In Muncie, he was a graduate of Royerton School. He proudly served three years in the U.S. Army - eighteen months as a postman and carpenter at Metz and the remaining thirty months as a mechanic in Toul, France. He was employed at General Motors in Anderson, Indiana for 38 years before retiring in 1993.
In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert, Jr., two sisters, Anna Vianco and Mary Klepfer and one brother, George Davis.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2023, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital for the excellent care and compassion shown to our father and family and to the staff at Morrison Woods for taking such good care of both our parents.
