William "Will" Avis Porter
July 29, 1949 – March 7, 2020

MUNCIE- William Avis Porter Sr., 70, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Will was born in Muncie, Indiana on Friday, July 29, 1949, to Jack Porter and Catherine (Miller) Baxter. Will was married to the love of his life and best friend, Linda (Trissel) Porter on September 6, 1968. He worked at Container Corp. for forty-five years. He achieved his goal of a hole-in-one playing golf. Will loved going to his kids’ and grandkids’ activities, golfing, bowling, camping and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Linda; three brothers, David Porter, Bobby Porter and Larry Baxter; son, William Jr. (Andrea); grandchildren, Karissa, Stephanie, Destany (Brayden), Brianna, William III and Riley; great-grandchildren, Shalea, Zyland, Da’Brien and Koviaire; and mother-in-law, Juanita.
Will was preceded in death by a daughter, Tricia Porter; father, Jack Porter; mother, Catherine Baxter; and one brother, Jackie Porter.

A graveside committal service will be held Monday, March 16, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Memorial Park, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304, with Reverend Denny Helton officiating.
