Ava was a spirited and independent woman who found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved exploring cities, taking walks through parks, and enjoying evening strolls after dinner. She especially cherished sitting outside in the sunshine, admiring flowers, and appreciating the beauty of nature. Her adventurous spirit and appreciation for the outdoors brought happiness to those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Kristine Madson, Jeremy Madson, Jeremy Cates, and Maxwell Cates; her grandchildren, DeJaneira Madson-Gainly, AannElise Madson, Kyle Kahabir, Derrick Kahabir, and Chance Kahabir; her great-grandchild, Leon Leasure; and her sister, Denise Emerson.
Ava was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Cates, and her son, Jason Cates.
A private family service will be held to honor and celebrate Ava's life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
