Donald Wayne Brewer

Spring Hill, Tennessee – Donald Wayne Brewer, a man whose warmth, strength, and vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, at the age of 85.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd at The Church at Station Hill in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Visitation will be at 10:00am and the service at 11:00am in Reed Hall at the church.

Born on July 18, 1941, in High Point, North Carolina, Don lived his life with a deep sense of purpose, a competitive edge, and a joyful heart. An accomplished lifelong athlete, he excelled in basketball and baseball for Choctawhatchee High School before going on to play college basketball for Troy State University. His passion for sports continued long after college in the Fort Walton Beach, Florida area, where he played slow-pitch softball for several elite teams, contributing to multiple National and World Softball Championships.

Professionally, Don brought that same dedication and integrity to his career, working faithfully for Centel Telephone Company and later Sprint for over 30 years before his retirement.

Don’s life was deeply rooted in his faith and community. He was a dedicated member of Spring Station Baptist Church in Spring Hill, where he served faithfully as a Deacon. Throughout his life, career, and time in ministry, Don was known for his steady leadership, his commitment to serving others, and his ability to uplift anyone in his presence.

Don’s greatest joy and proudest achievement, however, was his family. He was married to the love of his life, Teresa (Teri) Pressley Brewer, with whom he shared 45 beautiful years of marriage, partnership, and devoted love. Together, they built a warm, loving home and crafted a lifetime of cherished memories. His humor and laughter was infectious, his advice was wise, and his love for his family was unconditional.

He is survived by his loving wife, Teri; his son, Kendall Brewer (wife Cindy) ; his two granddaughters, Lindsay Ayer (husband David) and Alexandra Adams (husband Nick Redford); and his four great-grandchildren, Emery Ayer, Asher Ayer, London Adams, and Haven Adams, all of whom will forever carry his legacy of love, for the Lord Jesus, love for his family and love of sports and sportsmanship.

Don was preceded in death by his beloved father, Roland Hughes Brewer, and his mother, Lucy Margret Jones Brewer.

Don’s life was a testament to a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and lasting impact. While he will be deeply missed, his spirit will continue to shine brightly through the generations of family he loved so dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Don’s honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
