Donna Renee Gaines

Donna Renee Gaines, age 60, of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Tri Star Skyline Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Donna was the daughter of Earl Wilson and the late Linda Wilson. She is survived by her husband of over 28 years, Steve Gaines; daughters, Ashley Gaines Singleton and Brittney Hunley; granddaughter, Savanna Singleton; grandson, Isaac Hunley; father, Earl Wilson; and sister, Dana Wilson.

Donna graduated from Smyrna High School in Smyrna, TN in 1984. She continued her education at Nashville State Community College, earning her Associate’s Degree in Business Management. She went on to attend MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Determined to further her education while working full time and taking care of her family, Donna earned her Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Aquinas College in Nashville, TN. Her dedication and perseverance were a testament to her strong work ethic, commitment to personal growth, and her love for her family. Donna worked full time for Roadway Trucking Company in Human Resources. After working for Roadway Trucking Company for many years, she moved on to advance her career at Trevecca Nazarene University where she faithfully served as a Human Resources Specialist for 15 years. She enjoyed working with the students and staff each day leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and integrity. Donna was very proud of being able to retire and spend her time each morning reading her bible, spoiling her dog Axel and her husband each day.

Services to celebrate Donna will be at Two O’clock the afternoon of Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Campbell officiating. Placement will follow in the mausoleum at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are cordially invited to visitation also on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Roselawn Funeral Home from Twelve noon until the service begins at Two O’clock.
