Frances “Fran” Carolyn Green Barrett, age 87, of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away the morning of August 2, 2026, at her home in the gentle care of her loving family. Throughout her life, Fran was known for her generous spirit, asking for little and giving freely. A compassionate, gentle presence, she carried herself with patient thoughtfulness and an unflinching commitment to those entrusted to her care, especially as a devoted teacher who loved and cherished all children. In ways both seen and unseen, she served others selflessly, meeting needs with a tender heart and an attentive spirit.
As a wife, mother, and grandmother, Fran’s love was boundless and unconditional. She had a way of putting others first and an enduring ability to find the good in everyone. She held a special concern for those who were overlooked, offering understanding and advocacy with a calm, faithful resolve. Most of all, Fran was a faithful and professing Christian, and her life reflected that commitment through consistent compassion, gentle strength, and steadfast devotion.
