Gale Paul Swett, aged 90, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away on May 13, 2024. He was born on November 6, 1933, in Nebo, Illinois, to the late Goldie Edith Couch and Paul Morton Swett. Gale was married to Eleanor "Nell" Spradlin on January 22, 1954, in Elgin, Illinois.
Gale was a high school graduate who valued education throughout his life, continuously seeking knowledge through classes, research, and reading. He dedicated much of his career as Sr. Vice President at Better Bilt Aluminum.
Gale also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from September 1953 to September 1955.
Gale lived a remarkable life, characterized by love, dedication, and kindness. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend to many. His presence was a blessing, and his love for his family and friends was boundless.
Despite his age, Gale's mind remained sharp until the end, and he was always grateful for the people in his life. He cherished spending time with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, and numerous loved ones and friends.
Gale was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and found solace in his faith.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor "Nell" Swett, and children: Paul Swett and wife Susan of Wellington, KS; Sherry Mundinger and husband Louis of Sapulpa, OK; Tom Swett and wife Dawn of Murfreesboro, TN; James Swett and wife Syrenna of Smyrna, TN. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Gale was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Morton Swett and Goldie Edith Couch, four sisters: Ireta Ford, Edith Eilliott, Bona Durant, Shirley Smith, a brother, Hugh Swett, a son, Dennis Swett, a grandchild, Emily Marzzarella, and a great-grandchild, Mattison Swett.
Gale Swett's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A gathering of family & friends for Gale will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 5350 NW Broad Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37129, followed by a celebration of life from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
