Hobert “Mike” McCallister, Jr, age 87, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 at Good Samaritan Health and Rehab. He was the son of the late Hobert Cecil and Katherine Ethel Williams McCallister. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sara C. McCallister; sons, Michael E. McCallister and his wife, Tjuana and Jeffery McCallister and his wife Michelle; daughters, Teresa Chelette and her husband Tim; sisters, Dorothy Craft, Ethel McCallister, Grace McCallister and Debbie Rowland; brothers, Charles, Robert, Fred and John McCallister; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and stepsons, Randal and Clifford Underwood. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Frances “Fran” Harrell and stepsons, Chris and Phillip Underwood. Services to celebrate Mr. McCallister will be at One O’clock the afternoon of Monday, May 18, 2020 at Roselawn Funeral Home with Joe Clark officiating. Placement will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. McCallister served his country, having retired from the United States Navy. Following his retirement, he was a maintenance engineer at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center. Friends are cordially invited to visitation Sunday afternoon from Two O’clock until Six O’clock. We ask that you observe proper distance during this gathering time.
