James Burney “Jay” Whitehead, age 49, of Smyrna, passed away on Friday evening, March 31, 2017, at his home. Mr. Whitehead is survived by his son, James Timothy “JT” Whitehead; father, James Franklin (Missy) Whitehead; mother, Bonnie Burney (Buddy) Blasingame; and sisters, Alleah Graves, Amy (Richard) Wilson, Janine Huggard and Rhonda Walp. Services to celebrate Jay will be at Ten O’clock the morning of Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home. The family will be establishing an educational fund for Jay’s son, “JT”, so if you prefer to donate to that fund, please correspond with his family.
