Jimmy D. "Jimmy Dale, Jimmy" Wright, age 67, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday evening, September 24, 2026, at Alive Hospice. Born December 22, 1958, in Compton, California. Jimmy Dale lived with a spirited energy that showed itself in the way he worked, the way he played, and the steady, honest way he carried himself through life.
Jimmy Dale was a long time employee of Gibson Guitar Company, known for being hard-working and dependable. Outside of work, his adventurous nature drew him to the outdoors and to the open road—whether deer hunting with a bow or rifle, boating at the lake, riding 4 wheelers, or spending time on his motorcycle and in his truck. He also enjoyed going to the gun range, and he found simple pleasure in friendly competition, often playing darts or shooting pool.
Music was a lasting love for Jimmy Dale. He appreciated a variety of styles and genres, and he especially loved to play the guitar. In the everyday details, he was unmistakably himself—often seen wearing a ballcap, a “man’s man” in many ways, yet also sentimental, with a fondness for flowers and animals that spoke to the warmth beneath his rugged strengths.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sherri; son, Elijah; daughter, Whitney; stepson, Jamie and wife Rachael; stepdaughters, Tabitha and husband Corey and Brandy and husband Trent; grandsons, David, Brandon, Devon, Dustin, Nicholas, Tristan, Westin and Waylon; granddaughters, Destiny, Abigail and Regan; and a great granddaughter that is soon to arrive.
Jimmy Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Rocky and Darlene; and brother, Chuck.
Funeral Service to celebrate Jimmy Dale will be at One O'clock the afternoon of Friday, October 2, 2026, at Roselawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are cordially invited to visitation Thursday evening, October 1, 2026, from Five O'clock till Eight O'clock and Friday morning from Eleven O'clock till the service begins.
